The Tubac Market will begin gathering donations of dog and cat food, kitty litter, toys, etc. for the shelter on Saturday, September 4th. Also stop by to participate in the Gold Canyon Candle Fundraiser. 15% of all candle proceeds will go to the Santa Cruz Humane Society.

Board members and volunteers have been working to create a welcoming and open environment for the public and for the animals left in the shelter's care until homes can be found. This shelter is the only one in all of Santa Cruz County and it needs everyone's support. Can you help??????????
The adoption fee for a dog varies according to the dog and the situation of the potential adopter and includes the parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine and for the animal to be spayed or neutered. The SCHS participates in a program called Pets for the Elderly. Anyone over the age of 60 can take advantage of this program.
A local veterinarian has been helping the shelter with spay and neuter surgeries. In addition, the SCHS offers low cost spay/neuter services to the public on Wednesday's as well.
